ESG Certifications and Partnerships Showcase our Commitment to Sustainability

We are proud to hold certifications and memberships from trailblazing organizations that are leading the way in driving better, more sustainable business practices across all facets of the printing industry.

Bronze Sustainability Rating for 2024 - EcoVadis

As the world’s most-trusted provider of sustainability ratings, EcoVadis calculates each company’s overarching ESG score by ranking suppliers across four distinct categories:

  • Environment
  • Labor & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

By securing a Bronze rating, Wikoff Color placed in the top quarter of all manufacturers of varnishes, coatings and printing inks, assessed by EcoVadis over the previous year.

SGP Certified Facility

SGP is a print and packaging industry specific certification that focuses on accrediting manufacturers for maintaining high standards of sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Our Fort Mill manufacturing headquarters has earned SGP certification, highlighting the facility’s commitment to:

  • Building a culture of continuous improvement
  • Efficient processing methodologies
  • Waste reduction
  • Sustainable materials sourcing
  • Providing a safer, healthier workplace

Member: Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR)

APR focuses exclusively on improving recycling for plastics by delivering technical resources, testing programs, design solutions, training/workshops and regulatory leadership.

Our partnership with APR was formed with one goal in mind: To help our customers meet their lofty recyclable packaging goals. This is accomplished by formulating inks and coatings that are compatible with recycling infrastructures, pass rigorous testing protocols and meet the goals of our customers for recyclable packaging.

Signatory of the UN Global Compact

Wikoff Color joins more than twenty thousand participants across the globe to align business strategies and operations with ten accepted principles covering everything from human rights to environmental and labor practices and anti-corruption policy.

By being a proud signatory of the Un Global Compact, we are contributing to the advancement of sustainable and responsible corporate citizenship to promote ethical, social and environmentally conscious business conduct.

Member: Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC)

The SPC supports greater adoption of sustainable packaging practices by focusing on the key pillars of innovation, policy, recovery and packaging design. By participating in association events and making a concerted effort to drive innovation in the manufacturing of inks and coatings, Wikoff Color promotes the advancement of environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

Member: National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM)

NAPIM provides a platform for networking and collaboration within the industry, allowing for members to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies and regulatory developments. They also offer a  BioRenewable Content (BRC) certification program that validates and quantifies the percentage of renewable materials derived from biological sources in ink and coating formulations.

Wikoff Color is proud to have achieved a BRC Index rating of 70 for many of our ink and coating formulations, allowing our customers to make informed decisions regarding our eco-friendly product offerings.

Member: BCF

The British Coatings Federation has set the lofty goal of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions across the coatings industry by 2050. We are thrilled to work hand-in-hand with BCF to advance industry standards, promote innovation and foster sustainability initiatives.

Wikoff Color representatives participate in mentorship programs in the United Kingdom and serve on the BCF Printing Ink Technical, Sustainability and Management Committee.

Member: European Printing Ink Trade Association (EuPIA)

EuPIA serves as a representative body for printing ink manufacturers across Europe. Within EuPIA, sustainability and PIFood holds significance focusing on the production of printing ink specifically tailored for food packaging applications.

Our work with EuPIA’s PIFood initiative has enhanced the safety and efficacy of printing inks for food packaging applications, contributing to improving food packaging standards across the European Union.
