Environmental PRACTICES
WASTE REDUCTION
- Reduction of total waste volume at Fort Mill facilities + overall reduction in landfilled waste across all facilities
- Solvent waste is recycled for reuse
- Vast majority of waste is non-hazardous (NON-RCRA) due to mindful raw material selection
WATER CONSERVATION
- Water for facilities is drawn from the local POTW
- Elimination of once-through cooling water in older facilities has reduced water consumption
- Facilities work towards earning “no exposure” certificates and avoid discharges to surface and groundwater
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
- Participation in The Paperboard Packaging Council’s TICCIT Program (Trees into Cartons, Cartons into Trees)
- Members of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition
